Yes — the beam must be sized by a structural engineer and the work usually needs building-control approval. We work to those calculations and can help coordinate the process from start to finish.

We install temporary props (Acrow props and strongboys) to carry the load safely while we remove the wall and position the new steel onto its padstones.

That’s one of our most popular jobs. We assess whether the wall is load-bearing, arrange the steel and engineering, then carry out the removal and make good for a smooth, open finish.
